About The Founder

Jim Huntsman has been selling blue collar, in-home service jobs in multiple industries for over two decades. He started North Country because the in-home sales process is his passion, and he created a selling system that is essentially a "plug in and play" process that translates well in any home service vertical.
Sales was not a childhood ambition for Jim. He spent five years in the US Marine Corps infantry and after coming home from Iraq in 2003, the only job he was able to find was an in-home vacuum sales job. Don't laugh, its a true story! He figured it would work temporarily until he could find something better suited, such as framing homes or some other blue collar endeavor.
As it turned out, he sold an insane amount of vacuums. He was recognized as the top producer in that company and this set him on a course in which no matter which industry he sold in, he became the top producing salesman.
He then sold for a residential fence company, HVAC, a roofing manufacture, then a roofing contractor. He has spent time selling gutters, gutter protection, windows, cabinets, decks, landscaping, and eventually started his own roofing company.
It was as a business owner the idea of North Country came to be. His company wasn't big enough to hire a full time sales person, but he needed the help. Much of his roofing installs were being performed by third party subs and suddenly, it made sense! Why isn't there third party sales staff working as subs available?
North Country Sales was born. If you sell and produce home improvement work but don't want the headache and overhead of full time sales staff, you have found your solution.
Why Our Sales System Works
Directly from the owner of North Country
Selling in the age of the internet, AI, and wildly out of control competition can be very difficult to stand out. When most business owners are asked what they struggle the most with, in-home sales is always in the top 3 along with marketing and business process.
The confused mind says no, and most in-home sales processes do exactly that; confuse people. Too many options, too many pricing structures, not enough information.
Here's the thing; contractors tend to fall into one of two categories. One, they have no sales process at all. They visit the home, write a price on a business card and leave, or they simply get the details they need and email a bid. Or two, they sign up for some overly polished, high dollar sales system some consultant "highly recommends" and their salesman spends two hours hammering the homeowner with high pressure tactics trying to close jobs at ludicrous margins.
I have bad news for you; neither system will consistently close profitable jobs to help you scale.
There is another way. Our system. At North Country, we deeply understand the nuances of home improvement projects, the emotional roller coaster of homeowners obtaining multiple bids, and the variances of prospective customers in any given market area. We don't divulge our process here, but understand that our three part sales process is a genuine approach to solving the problems that homeowners call us for.
Think of it as more casual and less high pressure. More blue collar and less technology. More authentic and less "salesee." More about listening and less talking. And perhaps most importantly, more effective and less disingenuous. Using us, your customers will have more faith and trust in you and will value your company in a way that builds your reputation for the long haul.
You will, without a doubt, experience more profitable sales, higher job profitability, increased positive reviews, higher referral rates, and a much improved closing rate on your bids to jobs ratio now. Our system works, our system sells, and our system doesn't bamboozle people into signing contracts that they don't actually want. Give us a shout, and I'll walk you through how this works and if you give us a shot, I promise you won't regret it.
